Summary: We live in hurting world. The effects of sin are all around us. Jesus said in Matthew 18:7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must be that offences come; but woe unto that man by whom the offence cometh. This message is divided into three parts. 1. Offences Will Come; in which we look at the reality of offences in life. 2. The Bondage of Anger and Bitterness; where we look at the emotion of anger and how it must be put away. Anger left unchecked will smolder and burn often leading into bitterness. 3. The Release of Forgiveness; to forgive is to release from obligation as illustrated in the parable in Matthew 18. It not only releases the offender but it also releases the offended. This can only be done as we yield ourselves to Jesus and follow His example in forgiveness.
